Nasyrova The published archival document is a report of the employee of the all-Union Institute of light alloys G.V. Karsanov – «The State and prospects of development of production of metallurgical semi-fi nished products from beryllium and its alloys». The document provides a comparative analysis of the state of technology for the production of semi-fi nished products from beryllium and its alloys in the USSR and the United States, comparative characteristics of domestic and foreign alloys, noted the problematic issues in the work to obtain beryllium semifab-ricates, out-lined ways to overcome them. The introductory article covers the history of beryllium detection, the origin of the name of the element, its application in various industries, discusses the stages of the main work on the creation of edematous industrial methods of beryllium production.
