History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back THE AGONIZING SPIRIT OF CIRCASSIAN TRADITIONS, TRADITIONAL ETHNIC CULTURE AND HISTORICAL FACTOLOG A.S.Mirzoev The article is devoted to the questions of the correlation of the content and correspondence of the subjects of the Circassian legends and the historical facts, the agonal spirit and agonal thinking, characteristic of the Circassian traditional culture, based on them. The question of the historicity of Circassian songs and legends is part of the most complex problem of the correlation of folklore and history. Along with the reconstruction of the event basis of legends, the problem of reconstructing the mentality, outlook and value-normative attitudes of the Circassians of that time on the basis of an analysis of the content of this type of Circassian folklore is no less important. In traditions, such features of traditional Circassian culture as inherent agonistic features were refl ected. The agonal principle permeates through Adygeyan folklore. Hypertrophic desire for fame and sharp rivalry in the Circassian society, scientists explain the military-democratic way of life, influencing the style of interpersonal and inter-group communication. Challenging the championship is at the level of individuals, families, families, quarters, sub-ethnoses. Understanding of cultural agonistics brings to the knowledge of Circassian traditional culture and at the same time gives an opportunity to evaluate it among other cultural civilizations.
