THE FIRST ELECTRIC VEHICLES INVENTIONS IN RUSSIA |
A.F. Smyk
The paper investigates the issues of the inventive activity of one of the talented representatives of the Russian engineering community of the late XIX – early XX centuries Ippolit Romanov, which was associated with the creation of the fi rst in our country electric vehicles. With the direct participation of the famous engineer P. Freze, two-seater Romanov electric vehicles and an electric omnibus were built in Peterburg. At the very beginning of the twentieth century, Russian engineers developed the idea of urban electric transport – trams, electric vehicles and omnibuses, for the mass production of which required state support. In 1900 I. Romanov received a patent in Russia, and in 1905 a similar patent in the United States of America for the suspended railway, called the road «systems of engineer Romanov». In Gatchina were successfully tested monorail electric built under the project Romanova.
