History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back SCIENTIFIC BIOGRAPHY OF THE ACADEMICIAN NIKOLAY PAVLOVICH YUSHKIN (1936–2012) IN A FORESHORTENING OF ARCHIVAL DOCUMENTS T.P. Filippova On the basis of the documents which remained in the funds of the Scientific archive of the Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences the scientific biography of the academician Nikolay Pavlovich Yushkin (1936–2012) connected with studying of geology of the European North of Russia is considered. Primary groups of archival documents are allocated, their information opportunities are shown. The value of the remained documentary scientific heritage for reconstruction of the biography of N.P. Yushkin is presented. As a result of the analysis of sources professional activity of the famous scientist is recreated, his contribution to the development of geological researches in the European North of Russia is revealed. Scientific and organizational activity of the scientist as the director of the Institute of Geology of the Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the founder of school of sciences of geologists is shown.
