APPLICATION OF CONSTRAINT PROGRAMMING TECHNOLOGY FOR THE ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING OF INCOMPLETE AND DIFFICULTY FORMALIZABLE INFORMATION |

The article presents an overview of the results obtained at the Institute of Informatics and Mathematical Modeling of the KSC RAS in the field of development and use of methods and technology of constraint programming for solving problems characterized by incompleteness and difficulty of formalization of the initial information. For the representation and processing of qualitative constraints with uncertainties, it is proposed to use specialized matrices. The inference on these structures is suggested to implement in the form of constraint satisfaction procedures. A formal apparatus and developed methods of non-numerical constraint satisfaction are briefl y characterized, providing coprocessing of quantitative and qualitative subject domain dependencies. The paper considers the examples of the use of the obtained theoretical results for various applied tasks: adjustment of vocational education programs to the personnel needs of the regional socio-economic system; ontological engineering of poorly formalized subject domains; intelligent planning actions in emergency situations; qualitative modeling of dynamic systems. The paper contains references to the publications of the authors, in which the presented results are described more fully using
the necessary formal notation and conclusions.
