Berbekova This study presents the history of the Caucasian forest research, directly related to the scientific activities of the laboratory of monitoring forest ecosystems of IEMT RAS. The main directions and results of the research activities of the laboratory are highlighted: for the first time in the study of Caucasian forests, an integrated approach was applied using traditional research and modern methods (satellite images Landsat 8 TM, radar topographic data, molecular genetic methods).
