History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back PROGRESS OF METHODS FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST EFFECT OF SAND IN THE DEVELOPMENT MARINE OIL DEPOSITS OF VIETNAM E.V. Kudin, A.N. Ivanov, E.M. Veliev The analysis of complicating factors and features of the exploitation of offshore wells is presented, the experience of using the results of scientific research by Russian scientists to deal with sand occurrences in areas of the Dragon field (Vietnam) is considered. It has been shown that the most effective way to protect downhole equipment from sand is the use of sand filters and gas sand anchors designed to separate gas dissolved in oil and mechanical impurities contained in the well fluid. In conditions of the constant taking out of sand from the formation, it becomes appropriate to install a slot filter or filter with gravel tightening with overlapping perforation intervals.
