NOMINATIONS FOR NOBEL PRIZES DURING WORLD WAR II (1939–1945) |

The history of the nomination and awarding of the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine during the Second World War 1939–1945 is shown. There are three main changes in the procedures for nominating, awarding and ceremony these awards to the scientists of the world: reducing the number of nominees and nominations, not awarding prizes in certain years of the war, the inability of some scientists to come to the ceremony in time. Specific events related to all 19 laureates of this period are considered.
