History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ELECTRIC LIGHTING OF THE ALEXANDRINSKY THEATER AND THE MANAGEMENT HOUSE ON TEATRALNAYA STREET V.A. Petrushchenkov The purpose of the article is to study the features of the process of creating electric lighting systems in the Alexandrinsky theater and the Directorate House on Teatralnaya street (Zodchego Rossi street). Unlike other Imperial theaters in St. Petersburg, the electric lighting in this theater was created by the contractor engineer B.A. Zeitschel. The power plant was shared by the Alexandrinsky theater and the building of the Directorate House on Teatralnaya street. The organizational and technical features of this process over the entire period of the power plant’s existence are considered. A plan for the placement of power plant equipment is provided.
