LABORATORY «ORE DEPOSITS»: MAIN RESEARCH AREAS AND RESEARCH RESULTS

The directions and the most important results of research of the laboratory "Ore Deposits" of Institute of Geology UFIC RAS are considered. The main directions of research of the laboratory are: 1) ore content of gabbro-hyperbasite massifs; 2) metallogeny of the black shale formation; 3) magmatism and geodynamic conditions for the formation of the South Urals in connection with ore formation. The laboratory staff proposed a mechanism for the formation of chromite deposits. An assessment of the prospects of the Kraka massifs for chromite ores was carried out. A detailed catalog of the known chromite deposits and occurrences has been compiled. A methodological basis has been developed for the search for poorly disseminated chromite mineralization, as well as its complex use. A number of new chromite occurrences (Pridorozhnoe, Laktybash, Sitnovskoe) have been identified within the Apshak area (South Kraka massif). Within the paleocontinental structures of the Southern Urals, several promising areas of black shale deposits with commercial contents of noble and rare metals have been identifi ed: 1) Larinо dome (Aramil-Sukhtelinsk zone); 2) the northern part of the Yamantau and Mayardak anticlinoria (Bashkir uplift); 3) western framing of the Suunduk granite massif (East Ural uplift). A model of the formation of gold mineralization in carbonaceous deposits has been developed. It is shown that noble metal mineralization in different facies carbonaceous complexes has a polygenic sedimentary-hydrothermal-metamorphogenic nature. It has been proved that according to a number of geological, geochronological and petrogeochemical data, the rocks of the Kanzafar complex, as well as the Bolshakovo, Klyuchevskoy, Kurtmaksky, Kambulatovo massifs located within the Aramil-Sukhtelinsky zone, are comparable to the rocks of the Magnitogorsk complex, for which it is clearly proven that it belongs to the gabbro-granite formation. This made it possible to combine the South Ural and Middle Ural segments of the Early Carboniferous suprasubduction rift into a single submeridional structure.
