Iovlev, V.V. Pobedinskij The article considers the issue of the historical development of the internal combustion engine (ICE), tractor, car and their operational properties. Attention is paid to the directions of development of internal combustion engines, tractors, cars. The results of a comparative analysis of the main technical and economic indicators of internal combustion engines, tractors, automobiles, and their performance are presented. The question is raised about the importance of the development of engine building, automobile manufacturing, agricultural engineering for the development of the Russian economy. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the production of various types of equipment in different historical periods. The novelty of the research is seen in the fact that not only historical facts, statistical data have been investigated, but also the reflection of these issues in one of the mass hobbies of citizens - collecting postage stamps on the development of agriculture, agricultural machines, cars. The relevance of the study is due to the increase in scientific knowledge in the development of engine building, agricultural machine building, automobile manufacturing, the development of operational properties and the infl uence of modern tractors and cars on the development of the Russian economy. The authors dwell on the development of the principles of engine building, the principles of the development of layout solutions for the transmission, for the chassis at different stages of development of the state, society and technology.
