ELECTRIC LIGHTING OF THE IMPERIAL MIKHAILOVSKY THEATER |

The purpose of the article is to study the history of the creation of electric lighting, heating and ventilation systems in the Imperial Mikhailovsky theater. The construction of the Mikhailovsky theater power plant was carried out in several stages between 1886 and 1896. In 1910, it was at the Mikhailovsky theater power plant that N.P. Melnikov applied pumping circulation of water coolant in the theater’s heating and ventilation system under cogeneration conditions for the first time in the history of Russia. The organizational and technical aspects of the process of creating and operating a power plant over the entire period of its existence are considered in detail.
