Gabitov In the age of the global warming, the permafrost study becomes particularly important due to the varying climate. The problem of building cities in permafrost conditions was solved gradually, frequently at the building place. Lots of investigations have been carried out to study the properties of permafrost soils. Subsequently, they served as the basis for the compilation of geocryological maps. As a result of the accidents study at the building places on permafrost soils was revealed that the use of pile foundations is the best option in permafrost conditions.
