REVIEW OF SIGNIFICANT GENOME MODIFICATIONS CAUSE OF THE NEW CORONAVIRUS INFECTIONS (HISTORICAL REVIEW) |
A.A. Kornilova, S.N. Gaydamaka, M.A. Gladchenko, D.Ya. Agasarov, I.V. Kornilov, M.A. Gerasimov
This review presents an analysis of studies on several of the most signifi cant strains of SARS-CoV-2 and the mutations associated with their occurrence. Modifi cations to the genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus ensured the global spread of new strains and the adaptation of the virus to the immunized organism. The severe course of SARS-CoV-2 infection probably does not contribute to its rapid spread, and as a result, the most contagious strain becomes dominant, while at the same time causing mild or subtle symptoms in the host organism.
Keywords: coronavirus, genome, strains, mutations.
