History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back THE ROLE OF RUSSIAN SCENOGRAPHY IN THEATER ART A.E. Bulgakov In this article, the author emphasizes that scenography is a “spatial solution of saturation” of a performance, created according to the laws of visual and aesthetic perception of reality. The article notes that stage equipment inspired by a theatrical performance determines its visual significance. The visual structure of the scenography is represented by certain materials, including the spatial parameters of a particular work. Scenography is an image of the surrounding area in a theatrical work – scenery, costumes, lighting – that is, everything that directors need. The study points out that in the theater, as in other arts, the technical aspects of the stage associated with the dynamics of the human body play an important role. Based on the rules of visual perception and aesthetic perception, it develops using all the resources of the spatial art form.
