History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back REFORM OF A.N. KOSYGIN: AN ALTERNATIVE WAY OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOVIET ECONOMY N.V. Shabelnik, G.D. Razuvaev In the sixties of the last century in the USSR, transformations were carried out in the economic policy of the state. The ideas of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR A.N. Kosygin. Modern popular science literature ambiguously assesses the "Kosygin reforms". The authors consider the reforms of 1965–1967 from the point of view of an alternative way of developing the socialist economy of the USSR on the eve of stagnation (late 1970s - early 1980s). The article shows the success of the reforms, as well as the main reasons for the termination of their implementation.
