Lapshina, N.A. Nikishina The article is devoted to the period of formation of scientific research in the field of biological chemistry in the city of Kursk. Brief biographical information about Professor Mikhail Iosifovich Ravich-Shcherbo, the first chemist of the Kursk State Medical Institute, who headed the Department of Biological and Organic Chemistry from 1936 to 1970, is given. Ravich-Shcherbo scientific works and determined the contribution to the accumulation of an invariant amount of knowledge in the field of the structure and synthesis of proteins and lipids. The results of scientific research are considered from a historical point of view and the position of interdisciplinary relationships. The contribution of the scientifi c school of biological chemistry M.I. Ravich-Shcherbo in the methodology of natural science research and the methodology of teaching chemistry in medical universities in the second half of the twentieth century.
