Makarova The article reviews the book “Funds and collections of documents of personal origin of the Scientifi c Archive of the Federal Research Center Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences”. The second expanded edition of the thematic guide presents information on personal provenance archival fonds of scientists and specialists employed by or associated with Komi SC UB RAS. The guide is divided into three parts, subject of each is organized by provenances’ names, including a review article, a brief biographical background of a person, information for the composition and content of fonds. Content of the guide is prepared in accordance with the traditional archival arrangement of records of personal provenance and comprises information about scientific manuscripts, biographical and work-related documents, correspondence. Useful annexes include a bibliography about the persons of provenance, a list of fonds and series of the Scientific Archive of FRC Komi SC UB RAS, additional information about museum collections and archival records of scientists preserved in other museums and archives of the country, photos. High-level second edition of the guide serves an example of excellent publication with a significant amount of reference information and is concerned to be helpful for many scientists, historians of science and those interested in scientific research of the northern territories of Russia.
