History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Nobel’s Numismatics of the World Tyutyunnik V.M. The peculiarities of the refl ection of nobelistics in the numismatics of the world for 1901–2023 are discussed. If Nobel bonistics includes only 81 variants of banknotes with images of only 30 Nobel laureates and 1 father of the laureate, Nobel numismatics includes 1426 coins with images of 147 out of 1000 Nobel laureates for the end of 2023: in physics are 19 laureates, in chemistry are 7 laureates, in physiology or medicine are 20 laureates, in literature are 50 laureates, in peace prize are 47 laureates, in economics – 4 laureates. They are joined by 30 more coins dedicated to other, except for the laureates, artifacts of nobelistics: the founder of the Nobel Prizes A.B. Nobel (13 coins in 8 countries), the Nobel Peace Prize, relatives of the laureates, etc. All coins on nobelistics issued in the USSR and Russia are given and described, including brief biographical notes on the laureates.
