History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Ideas and Design Features of Computer Technology in the Work of Domestic Scientists Smyk A.F., Artamonov A.A. The article reveals the design features of computers in which the ideas of domestic scientists were implemented at the stages of mechanical and electromechanical development of computer technology. A historical and scientifi c analysis of literary sources, original works of domestic scientists, descriptions of inventions and patents related to the mechanical and electromechanical stage of the development of computer technology was carried out. We examined the outstanding role played in the history of the construction of continuous calculating machines by Academician P.L. Chebyshev. We presented the design features of the adding machine created by V.T. Odner, and further development of adding machines by domestic engineers (the Soyuz adding machine). In the fi eld of analog computer technology, a signifi cant contribution was made in the construction of hydraulic integrators by engineer V.S. Lukyanov (1934), electrical integrators - academicians A.N. Krylov (1904), I.S. Brook (1936), the fi rst electronic analog computers were created at the Electrotechnical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences under the leadership of L.I. Gutenmacher (1943). The continuity in the creation of mechanical and electromechanical calculating machines has been traced, and unique examples of computer technology, such as the integrator A.N., have been studied.
