History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back M.I. Borisenko – General Designer the First Domestic Multichannel Radio Communication Complexes of the Technical Basis of Management D.A. Antropov The article is dedicated to Mikhail Ivanovich Borisenko, a scientist, teacher, general designer of the fi rst domestic multichannel radio communication facilities and complexes. The main directions of his creative activity devoted to the development of control and communication systems for rocket and space technology are considered. In addition, the main results of the outstanding scientist's activity are presented and a designer in terms of the development of means, complexes and technologies of new types of communication – satellite communications, lineof-sight radio relay communications and tropospheric refl ection radio relay communications. His front-line experience as a communications offi cer, the fi rst years of working with S.P. Korolev are considered. and his associates in the development of control systems for the fi rst missile systems. The most important role of M.I. Borisenko in the course of ensuring the control of rockets that launched the fi rst artifi cial Earth satellites, the Vostok spacecraft with Yuri Gagarin on board, as well as automatic interplanetary stations is shown. An important place is devoted to the study of the organizational and scientifi c activities of M.I. Borisenko as director and general designer of the Moscow Scientifi c Research Radio Engineering Institute. His organizational role is shown in the development of the scientifi c and technical potential of the Institute. The main research and development work carried out under his leadership on the development of direct-line-of-sight and tropospheric refl ection radio relay communication complexes is disclosed. The features of M.I. Borisenko's scientifi c, pedagogical and design activities are noted. His systematic approach to the creation of multichannel radio communication facilities has been studied. Based on the results of M.I. Borisenko's activities, historical lessons have been prepared in the fi eld of development of radio communication complexes.
