History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Northern Soil Expedition of the Leningrad Branch of the All-Union Institute of Fertilizers, Agricultural Soil Science and Agricultural Technology (1936–1938): Staff, Tasks, Results N.G. Suslova Based on the documents of the Central State Archive of Scientifi c and Technical Documentation of Saint Petersburg, the article presents the activities, members, tasks, survey area, and results of the Northern Soil Expedition of the Leningrad Branch of the All-Union Institute of Fertilizers, Agricultural Soil Science and Agricultural Technology. The scientifi c and industrial signifi cance of the expedition results has been determined: description and characterization of the soils of individual areas, compilation of soil maps, development of recommendations to local farms for the improvement of agriculture.
