History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back The Formation of the First Driving Schools in the USSR and the Peculiarities of Driver Training in the First Half of the ХХ Century Dadilov A.S. The article presents some historical facts about the creation and development of driving schools in the USSR, the specifics and conditions of organizing training for car drivers in the fi rst half of the 20th century, when the automotive industry began to emerge in the USSR. With the advent of automobiles in the country, there began to be a need for automotive personnel who could safely drive cars, as well as maintain and repair them. Since the appearance of the fi rst cars, the issue of training car drivers has been signifi cant and relevant, it was necessary to constantly improve their training methods, improve their driving skills and improve their skills, especially in the context of constantly changing scientifi c and technological progress. And although driving schools have been developing for more than 100 years, the issue of the quality of driver training still remains relevant, as it directly affects the accident rate and road safety. An untrained driver driving a car is a potential threat to other road users, which can lead to injury and death.
