History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Aviation Cluster of Kuibyshev Region: Evacuation of Industrial Enterprises of the People's Commissariat of Aviation Industry in 1941–1942 and the Living Conditions of the Evacuated Workers Romanova V.B. The article analyzes the process of evacuation of industrial enterprises from the frontline areas to the eastern regions of the USSR. The living conditions of aviation industry workers evacuated to Kuibyshev in 1941–1942 are also considered. In 1941, part of the vertical management of the USSR aviation industry was moved to Kuibyshev: the staff of the Commissariat of the Aviation Industry, research organizations and aviation plants. It was not possible to provide everyone with living space and necessary amenities. However, the domestic issues of the evacuees were under the control of government agencies. The issues were resolved by the Commissariat of the Aviation Industry, organizations and enterprises.
