The article, based on documents of the Scientific Archive of the Komi Science Centre of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of
Sciences, presents the circumstances of the geobotanist V.D. Aleksandrova's stay on Novaya Zemlya in 1932–1933, as well as the results of her
surveys of the summer and winter conditions of reindeer grazing on the Gusinaya Zemlya Peninsula, Mezhdusharsky Island, and the Kara Side.
