History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back From the History Development of New Directions in Techniques and Technical Sciences in Georgia (1956–1964) L.I. Mgaloblishvili The work deals briefly with some organization – structural measures taken in Georgia during the second half of the fifties and the first half of the sixties. They were directed to develop the network of institutes and design organizations with the view to fulfill works in the field of automatic performance of productive processes. The activities of new scientific – research institutes and other establishments within the system of the Georgian Academy of Sciences are described in detail. Concrete works concerning the creation of instruments and facilities of automation are outlined here. It is spoken about the practical application of these development in different fields of industry of Georgia and USSR.
