History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back The Expeditions of the Soviet Academy of Sciences Over 1925–1930, and the Issue of the Academic Intelligentsia of Yakutia E.P. Antonov This article discusses the role of Soviet-era academic expeditions in the formation of a local academic intelligentsia in the Yakut Soviet Socialist Republic. It describes the mobilisation of a local area studies movement, the development of networks of research centres, and the contribution of local area studies specialists to the social and cultural study of Yakutia.
