Repinetskaya In 2017, marks the 165th anniversary of the birth of the famous pedagogue-mathematician Andrei Petrovich Kiselev, who devoted his entire life to work on textbooks for schools and secondary vocational schools. Maths have been taught in mathematics for more than one generation, beginning in 1884, when his «Systematic course of arithmetic» was published. Then were written textbooks on algebra, physics, algebra and the beginnings of analy-sis, geometry. The last of them was in force until 1970. All textbooks were repeatedly reprinted, and each subsequent edition of An-Drey Petrovich was revised and supplemented, taking into account all the changes in mathematical science, pedagogy and psychology. His textbooks were in demand not only in Russia: they were translated into the languages of the former Soviet Union, and in addition to English, non-Finnish, Finnish and Japanese.
